“Dancing in a Winter Wonderland”-
In addition to our spring recital we will be having a winter dance show. This gives your dancers the opportunity to perform for their family and friends twice a year. Our winter show will be held on Saturday December 11th. To be eligible to participate dancers must be registered for classes by October 1st, attend the October and November dance sessions in the same class, pay a $25 performance fee, and attend the dress rehearsal on Friday December 10th. There is no costume to purchase for the winter show. As we did last year, we will be supporting a local charity with proceeds from this recital. A minimum of $5 per performance fee will be used to purchase gift cards and items for the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter. Thanks to your support, last year we donated over $1,000 in money and toys to benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. However, as this year’s charity is in need of larger purchases and items for older children, we are collecting monetary donations only this year. As we did last year any additional profit from this performance (such as bake-sale monies) will be donated to the charity.
Due to the amount of costumes we have and the location of the winter show, spots are limited so make sure you sign up early to reserve your dancer’s spot!
End of the Year Recital Information– There will be an end-of-year recital held at a local theater. Each child is invited to participate. Participation in the recital is optional. Our theme for 2011 is “Salute to America” The recital is a chance for your child to show what they learned all year. Students that participate in the recital will be required to pay a $25 recital fee and purchase a costume. The recital fee goes towards the rental of the theater, lighting and sound techs, recital program etc.
Students in a 3-5 yr old class will perform one dance in the recital and will be required to purchase a $42 costume. Students ages 6 and up will perform 2 dances in the recital and will be required to purchase a 3 in 1 costume that will be used for both dances. The price for that costume will be $55. A costume deposit of $30 is due by Dec 11th. The costume balance will be due on March 1st with your $25 recital fee.
NEW: Dancers joining classes in January can choose to participate in the spring recital if there is space in the class however there will be an additional $6 charge per costume. Your costume deposit of $36 is due before Feb 15th.
