2011 Winter Show Packet

Dancing in a Winter Wonderland will be Sunday December 18th at Mill Creek High School. Show times will be 2:00 and 5:00.A detailed recital packet will be available soon!

Georgia Dance Unlimited  Performing Dance Company

 

New this fall we will be offering a performing company for our dancers that want to become more involved in dance. Company members will be required to take one class a week at any of our locations along with a “company class” where they will learn their company dance. Dancers will compete with their dance in 2-3 local dance competitions. 

The company is open to dancers age 5 and up. Auditions for our 2011-2012 performing company will be held on Saturday August 27^th at 2:30 at Bogan Community Center. If you would like more information about the company please contact us anytime prior to the auditions to receive a detailed information packet.

All of our dancers did an amazing job during our 4th annual recital “Salute to America”! Thank you to all of the parents, family and friends that came out to support your dancers! We are looking forward to a great summer of camps and starting back our dance year in August! Have a great summer!!!!

2011 Dress Rehearsal Schedule

It is VERY important for all dancers to attend Dress rehearsal. The purpose of this rehearsal is to make dancers feel more comfortable on stage and ready for the big show! Please have your dancer at the theater dressed and ready to dance at least 15 minutes before your scheduled rehearsal time. Each group will practice their dance on stage 1-2 times and will then have their group picture taken. Classes that have more than one dance will practice both dances on stage before they have their pictures taken. After the pictures are taken you will be free to leave, or may stay and watch other groups dance.  Feel free to take pictures and videotape the rehearsal.

Last December after our winter dance show GDU delivered over $1,000 in presents for the children at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter. This spring we would like to help our local community again.

We will be collecting easter basket items that we will take to The Quinn House in Lawrenceville. They will  then distribute easter baskets to local needy children and senior citizens. If you would like to contribute items you can bring your items to dance class from now until April 18^th. We are asking for items such as small easter baskets, grass, candy and small toy items for the children and toiletries, large print puzzles and sugar free candy for the senior citizens.

Everyone that brings in items will be entered in a drawing to receive a $20 gift card to Ballare Dancewear in Buford.

Costume deposits for our spring show “Salute to America” are due Feb 1st. All costumes ordered after Dec 31st are charged an $6  because the costume price goes up as well as the shipping. While Feb 1st is the deadline we encourage you to sign up as soon as possible to ensure that the costume will arrive in time for the show.

Costume balances are due on March 15th along with the $25 recital fee.

We follow Gwinnett County School closings, if Gwinnett County Schools are closed we WILL NOT have class. If inclement weather occurs on a Saturday please check here and our Facebook page for details on whether we will have class or not. You can also call us at 770-833-9636.
